I think this is one of the biggest problems with how caregiving works (or doesn't) for people. Caregivers are set up not to take preventative measures, or if they do, unforeseen events could happen. And, to your point, there is also the emotional toll of not just us losing someone else but the emotional toll of caregiving itself. There are no easy answers, but I don't think that means we shouldn't keep talking about it, raising the alarm, and looking for solutions.
