Wow, wow, wow! Have you ever made tremendous strides toward caregiver sanity... dare I say ticked off all the boxes? You've done the work and are in a better position than most family caregivers can create for themselves. "Now What?" I thought of this from my book: "But when the chapter has been written, when the activity subsides and the quiet surrounds you, I hope you know you were the best caregiver you could be. I hope you have no regrets, you can listen to the calm, and you'll eventually call it Peace." I surely understand staying aware, even hypervigilance if needed, but maybe what's next could contain space to pat yourself on the back and begin to chip away at Peace. (P.S. Loved the structure of your article!)
Thank you for the "WOWS!" and the encouragement. And I'm sure that you are right. Therefore, I will diligently begin the search for Peace in Caregiving. I feel as if it may actually be within reach. I really hope so...
I hope that for you, too. Just remember, all measures of time can count as peaceful, including a day (can you imagine?), a morning, or even a moment. We "beggars" can't be choosers. Wishing you some easy pickings and an eventual patchwork of peace that works for you.
Very glad you’ve found a good balance and support with your brother. Hopefully this strengthens you both!
Thank U for your support.
